Olivia Steinman Deems
Director of Artistic Operations
Biography
Olivia manages the Orchestra’s artistic operations, including the coordination of the Orchestra’s calendars. Olivia serves as the "hub" for the Artistic Operations team and works closely with other departments to ensure every detail is accounted for. She also leads the planning and execution of the Sarasota Music Festival’s operations and production.
Prior to joining Sarasota Orchestra, Olivia served as marketing and engagement coordinator and box office manager for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. She has also held leadership roles in arts education, including director of Intermediate Girls at Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan.

Education and Experience: Olivia holds a Doctor of Music in clarinet performance with specialized studies in arts administration from Florida State University; a Master of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Akron; and a Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance from the University of North Texas.
Favorite piece of music: Olivia says, "This is such a hard question to answer, because the repertoire is so vast and my opinion would likely shift with my changing mood. But if I had to list an orchestral selection, I’d say Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. I love repertoire that tells a story—and there are GREAT clarinet parts throughout, which I’m of course partial to."
