Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Joshua Horne received his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin where he studied horn performance under Patrick Hughes, and his master's degree in horn performance at Rice University in Houston, TX under the tutelage of William VerMeulen. Joshua is proud to serve as co-principal horn of the Sarasota Orchestra in Sarasota, Florida and principal horn of the Charlottesville Opera Orchestra in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has also had the privilege of performing with professional orchestras such as the San Antonio Symphony, Houston Symphony, and Charlotte Symphony.

Instrument: Josh's French horn is a Steve Lewis horn custom made for his dad, Ivan F. Horne. He gave Josh the horn a few years ago and he is eternally grateful. It's very well made and Josh loves the way it looks and sounds.
Education: Master of Music – Rice University; Bachelor of Music – University of Texas at Austin
Career Highlights: When asked about his proudest musical accomplishments, Josh responded, "Winning my job here at the Sarasota Orchestra! I am also fond of my performance in Carnegie Hall with the Rice University Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra. We performed my favorite piece, Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra."
Passions and Interests: In his spare time, Josh enjoys music, movies (specifically horror movies!), podcasts, politics, and his dog Luke Skybarker!
