Yifei Wang

Yifei Wang is a violist currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in viola performance at Michigan State University, where she studies with Eric Nowlin and serves as a teaching assistant. She previously studied at the University of Michigan, Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, and the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. Wang has performed as principal and assistant principal viola in university and professional orchestras in the United States and Germany, and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe and China. Her musical interests include orchestral performance, chamber music, and contemporary repertoire. In addition to performing, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring young musicians, with the personal goal of pursuing a career in both orchestral performance and higher education.
