Kathryn Fakeley

Canadian cellist Kathryn Fakeley (b. 2004) has delighted audiences across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Africa. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at the McDuffie Center for Strings under the esteemed guidance of Hans Jorgen Jensen and Brannon Cho. Kathryn has attended several prestigious summer programs, including the Rome Chamber Music Festival and Meadowmount School of Music. In the past year, she has been invited to perform on chamber music series such as New Canaan Chamber Music in Connecticut, USCB Chamber Music in South Carolina, and the Fabian Concert Series in Georgia. Kathryn has performed as a soloist with the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Civic Symphony, and Red Deer Symphony Orchestra on multiple occasions. She is a substitute cellist with New World Symphony and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Kathryn is the founder and director of Open Strings Initiative, an organization dedicated to bringing high-quality musical performances to underserved communities.
