Jiaming Wang is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University, where he studies with Michelle LaCourse. Originally from China, he began his musical training at an early age with the violin and later focused on the viola, developing a strong interest in both orchestral and chamber performance. His artistic development has been further shaped by participation in international music festivals, including the Music Academy of the West and the Pacific Music Festival, where he collaborated with musicians from diverse musical backgrounds. An active performer, Jiaming has appeared in a wide range of orchestral and chamber settings across the United States. He has performed with ensembles such as New World Symphony, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a recipient of the Viola Prize in the Strings Department Bach Competition and was a winner of the Boston University First Chamber Music Competition. He play on a 2012 Douglas Cox viola generously on loan from the Virtu Foundation.
