Violist Bram Fisher is a recent graduate of New England Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of Martha Strongin Katz and Melissa Reardon. He has attended courses at Rencontres Musicales Camerata Lysy, Festival del Lago, Heifetz International Music Institute, Les Écoles d'Art Américaines de Fontainebleau, Yellow Barn's Young Artists Program, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Madeline Island Chamber Music. He is a Prizewinner of the Massachusetts Viola Society's Competition for Young Viola Soloists, the Uel Wade Music Competition, South Mountain Association's Willeke Memorial Scholarship, Berkshire Taconic Foundation's Ferris Burtis Scholarship, NEC's Entrepreneurial Musicianship Nova Fellowship and Honors Ensemble Fellowship, and Eastman School of Music's Bernard Rogers Memorial Prize. Prior to enrollment at NEC, Bram studied at Eastman School of Music with violist Masumi Rostad and composers Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez and David Liptak. Bram plays a viola made by Douglas Cox, on generous loan from the Virtu Foundation.
