Oboist Alexis Wilson’s musical journey began on the violin at age 8 and eventually led to her passion for the oboe. Alexis is currently studying at the Eastman School of Music with Richard Killmer as a junior Oboe Performance major, where she double majors in Psychology. She has been playing the oboe for nine years and has performed professionally with a number of ensembles in the Northwest Ohio region including the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and Stow Symphony. Currently, she plays in both the Eastman Philharmonia and Eastman Wind Ensemble. She won the Contemporary Youth Orchestra's concerto competition, and was a finalist in the Brevard Summer Music Festival Concerto Competition. Alexis has played in chamber ensembles since she began playing the oboe, and she is currently a member of a woodwind quintet and a soprano-oboe duo ensemble.
