Felix Kim is a native of Bothell, Washington, where he started learning cello at age nine with Leslie Marck. In February 2018, he made his concerto debut with the Cascade Symphony Orchestra after winning their Rising Star Youth Competition, subsequently leading to a television performance on KING 5's New Day Northwest. In 2021, he was a finalist for the Classic KING FM 98.1 Young Artist Awards and was invited to perform on Northwest Focus Live with Sean MacLean. In the past, he has attended the Meadowmount School of Music, Vivace! Matera International Music Festival, Ascent International Chamber Music Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, and Bowdoin International Music Festival. Recently, he performed in a masterclass for Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Felix is a recipient of the Dean's Performance Award and is a scholarship student of Steven Doane at the Eastman School of Music, where he is Principal Cellist of the Eastman Symphony Orchestra.
