Experience the incredible joy of Beethoven's "Choral" Symphony, the most iconic work of western music. From its mysterious opening, to its remarkable finale, the forceful music of this Ode to Joy celebrates Beethoven's cherished belief in the brotherhood of humankind. What better pairing with one of classical music's greatest symphonies, than music from one of its greatest operas? Verdi was the master of Italian opera, and his powerful Aida Sinfonia builds from soft beauty to majestic power. The symphonic compatriot of Verdi, Martucci's Notturno is comprised of lush sounds accompanying an opulent melody. Heightening the energy of this concert will be the gripping presence of Conductor Alessandro Siciliani. He is a major force in the world of classical music and won widespread acclaim as the former music director of Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
